Begin your trip with Pul Kanjari which is a historical village situated 35 km away from Amritsar on Amritsar-Lahore road, near the villages of Daoka and Audhar on the Wagah border. Head out to the Wagah Border with your English speaking guide and watch as you head to the Grand Trunk Road, the only link between India and Pakistan in 1999. In the ceremony, you will watch the soldiers of two nations put on a show of sorts, with the lowering of both flags and a handshake between two nations. Officially, the purpose of the ceremony is to formally close the border for the night and lower the national flag. However, it is an entertainment ceremony and a display of national pride for the thousands of people who come here every day.
