Meet your tour guide at your hotel in the morning and embark on the three-hour drive to Athens. As you travel through villages and country roads, your guide will get to know you, make recommendations to help customize your day, and share the myths and history related to the creation of the Acropolis. Take a break to appreciate the view of the Corinth Canal about halfway through your journey. Once you arrive in Athens, explore the Acropolis of Athens, including the Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Erichtheion, and the Temple of Athena Nike. After a few hours at the archaeological site, you have the chance to visit the Acropolis Museum (own expense). Afterwards, you may choose to visit the traditional narrow alleys of Plaka, one of the oldest districts of modern Athens. There, you can find many souvenir shops or eat at cafes or traditional taverns before making your way back to Kalamata.
