It has 160 rooms and 30 bathrooms.The main caracteristic of the castle is its detailed woodwork made by Bernhard Ludwig from Vienna .

Some of Wednesday’s Nevermore interiors—like principal Larissa Weems’s (Gwendoline Christie) office and the adjacent railed mezzanine—were shot at the historic Monteoru House in Bucharest. The scenes of the Gates family's abandoned house were filmed at 30 miles near Bucharest at the lady's Olga Greceanu mansion. The episode with the biology laboratory they were made at the botanical garden in Bucharest. The first part of the film was made at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest.
