Located at the foot of Mount Wakakusa in Nara, Nara Park is an urban green space that blends natural beauty with historical culture. Famous landmarks such as Todai-ji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine are all located in this area, making it a must-visit destination in Nara. Mount Wakakusa is an excellent vantage point for overlooking the entire city of Nara, and the traditional 'Yamayaki' (mountain burning) event held every January attracts countless visitors. The most beloved residents here are the lively and adorable deer. They are very spirited; when they see deer crackers in visitors' hands, they will always come over impatiently, sometimes even surrounding you in groups. Please be careful, as the deer may occasionally swarm you, creating a joyful scene of being 'deer-rushed'.
Fushimi Inari Taisha is one of the most famous shrines in Japan, known worldwide for its red torii gates. It is dedicated to the deity Inari, symbolizing a bountiful harvest and prosperity. Walking through the layers of torii gates feels like entering a mysterious world. Each torii gate represents the devotion of the donor, and the blend of tranquility and solemnity provides an otherworldly experience. In addition, the Ema at Fushimi Inari Taisha are unique, shaped like white foxes, inspired by the messengers of the Inari deity. Visitors can get creative and doodle on these fox-shaped Ema, drawing various magical expressions or writing down their wishes.
【Kiyomizu-dera Temple】Founded in 778, Kiyomizu-dera is one of the oldest temples in Kyoto and is known as the 'Symbol of Kyoto.' The temple's main stage hangs over the hillside, offering a magnificent view of downtown Kyoto. As a World Cultural Heritage site, Kiyomizu-dera is not only a cultural treasure but also a sacred place for prayer and meditation. (Admission fee: Adults: 400 JPY, Elementary/Junior High Students: 200 JPY) Please pay the fee on your own.
【Ninenzaka & Sannenzaka】Located outside Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka are slopes with a unique Kyoto atmosphere, listed as 'Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings' in Japan. Both sides of the stone-paved slopes are lined with Japanese-style buildings full of ancient charm. You will be dazzled by the variety of local delicacies and handicrafts such as paper fans, dolls, and chopsticks.
【Yasaka Shrine】Located in the Higashiyama District of Kyoto, this is one of the most famous and historic shrines in the Kansai region. There are designated areas for drawing fortunes, writing Ema (votive tablets), and requesting amulets. The Ema designs are very diverse, and the heart-shaped Ema for praying for love are particularly popular.
