This historic town is renowned for its cluster of Lord Shiva temples and its vibrant annual cattle fair. On the way, nature enthusiasts can enjoy a safari along the Chambal River with a naturalist, where alligators, crocodiles, freshwater dolphins, and various bird species can be spotted. At Bateshwar, situated on the banks of the Yamuna River, you will find a long line of temples—mostly dedicated to Lord Shiva. Some of these date back to the 12th century. While many have faded over time, others still stand intact, traditionally said to number 101.
