This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Take a short ride from the city center of Lisbon to get to Paulo and Susana's house in Apelacao, a quiet and open neighborhood in the outskirts of Lisbon for your Portuguese cooking class. Paulo, Susana and their two children will be expecting you with some classic Portuguese appetizers and a glass of local Portuguese wine. Expect a very local and authentic culinary experience in a family atmosphere with Paulo and Susana sharing lots about Lisbon's history, culture and food scene. After a welcome appetizer and drink, you will join Paulo and Susan in their kitchen for your Lisbon cooking class and learn to prepare two traditional Portuguese dishes. Learn the techniques involved in cooking Portuguese cuisine during your cooking class which will last about two hours. Later join your hosts at the dining table to enjoy the meal you helped prepare. Unless you have a particular preference, your hosts will choose to surprise you with their own selection of favorite local dishes - two appetizers and mains. Your meal will conclude with Portuguese dessert.
