The lake is also known for the country's only island, which houses St. Mary's church and is reachable with traditional "pletna" boats.

    The oldest and one of the most scenic castles of Slovenia is located on a high rock, above the surface of Bled lake. Interior visit includes museum and fascinating observation points.

    They say that Bled is for tourists and Bohinj is for Slovenians. A marvelous lake, the largest one in the country, is located just at the foot of Julian alps, on the territory of Triglav national park area.
