The highlight of your day awaits at Longhill Station, a 9000-acre private
high-country working farm. You will receive a warm welcome from Kate (and
Duncan?), where you'll experience the true essence of high-country
hospitality. Enjoy a brief refreshment break with delicious scones, coffee/tea
and take advantage of the bathroom facilities.

Witness Traditional Sheep Herding

Step outside to witness the impressive teamwork between Kate and her skilled
dogs, showcasing the traditional art of sheep herding.

Educational and Scenic Farm Tour

You will then embark on an educational and visually stunning tour of Longhill
Station where you will learn about the rich history of high-country farming
and discover why it is more than just a job - it's a way of life.

Nature Walk and Insightful Discussions

There will be a chance to go on a short nature walk to pause on the sunny face
of the farm, take photos and enjoy the tranquillity. Here you can engage in a
fascinating discussion about the local fauna and flora and the importance of
beehives. Also, you can take the opportunity to discuss the innovative
regenerative crops being cultivated on the farm.

Locally Sourced Lunch and Art Appreciation

Complete your high-country farm tour by heading back to the farmhouse to enjoy
a light lunch featuring locally sourced honey and cheese. You will have the
opportunity to browse Kate’s art work where she takes inspiration from her
beautiful surroundings.

Journey into Arthurs Pass National Park

After lunch we then depart for Arthurs Pass National Park. Enroute you will
take in the mesmerising views before delving deeper into the national park. If
time permits, your guide will lead you on a series of short walks, tailored to
your group's interests and abilities, through ancient beech forests, alongside
crystal-clear rivers, and to stunning viewpoints that showcase the area's
natural wonders.

Scenic Return to Christchurch

Conclude your journey with a leisurely drive back to Christchurch, traversing
the sub-alpine beauty of Porter's Pass and the idyllic Canterbury Plains. Your
guide will ensure you make the most of every photo opportunity, capturing the
essence of this remarkable landscape.
