Underground tunnels with a length of 200 km are dug in layers of limestone rocks at depths between 35 and 80 meters. Another important tourist sight is Manuc Bei mansion, located in Hâncești town. Built at the beginning of the 19th century, in 1816. The project was realized by the famous Italian architect Bernardazzi. The so-called “Moldovan Versailles” palace respects the style of French classicism.
