One of the largest urban parks in the Western Hemisphere, it is about 686 hectares. It is centered on the rock formation called Chapultepec Hill, which had become a refuge even for Aztec rulers. Later, during the colonial era, Chapultepec Castle took shape here, which served as the official residence of Mexican presidents until 1940.
