Highlights
Take a ride on the Sagano Romantic Train. This Art Deco-style train, with its distinctive red, yellow, and black design, runs a 7.3 km route from Saga Torokko Station, next to JR Saga-Arashiyama Station, to Kameoka Torokko Station. The journey takes about 25 minutes and follows the Hozugawa River.
The train operates on the former San'in Main Line, now closed due to upgrades on the JR San'in Main Line. As you travel, you can use a multilingual audio guide. Download the free app on your smartphone, which syncs with the train’s location. The audio guide provides useful information to enhance your journey, making it easier to identify landmarks and points of interest along the way.

All Sagano Romantic Trains feature reserved seating and are designated as non-smoking
The No. 5 Car is an open-air car with no glass windows. Please note that if it rains, you may get wet
Umbrellas are not allowed onboard during rainy weather
Pre Purchase
Children aged 0–5: free; no ticket needed. They must sit on an adult’s lap
For more than one child, or if a seat is needed, a child ticket must be purchased
