On our full day hike from and back to Lalibela you will, amongst other things, experience a superb view over our lovely mountains area, called the LASTA MOUNTAINS. On the way you will visit ASHETEN MARYAM, a still active mountain monastery with a cave church... AND this track also offers you the great opportunity having an authentic insight in the Ethiopian farmer’s life. We start early in the morning-in case your hotel doesn't provide breakfast you will meet your trekkingguide at 7am in a local Cafe where you will have a nice, solid beginning of the day. 30-45 minutes later you start your hike directly from there. After 2 minutes you will find yourself already out of town, right above Lalibela, in the nature. On the way to the mountain monastery you will overcome hills in a zick-zack line-the paths have been there for lots and lots years and are the evidence that many feet already ran up and down that paths in order to bring goodies either to the Saturday market in Lalibela or back home, in the mountains.
