Performance dates: June 27 (Sat) to 28 (Sun), 2026

The joint performance of Kyoto's five kabaneri districts, "The Bustling Scene
of the Capital (都の赈い)," which kicked off as part of the 1200th anniversary
celebrations of the founding of Heian-kyo (the capital of Kyoto) in 2008.

The only performance that allows you to enjoy approximately 70 geisha and
maiko from the five major geisha districts of Gion—Kōbe, Miyagawa-chō, Ponto-
chō, Kamishichiken, and Gion-Higashi—on the same stage is "Miyako no Ryōrō."
It is a magnificent stage performance that is like a dream.

In addition to the unique performances of each geisha district, the annual
June performances also feature "Maiko no Ryoun" (Maiko's Lively Life), a show
performed by geisha from all five districts, adding a vibrant touch to the
ancient capital of Kyoto in early summer.
