Highlights
Discover the paradisiacal secret hidden in the mountains of Tierra del Fuego: the Laguna Esmeralda trekking.
Do you like nature and the mountains? Then this hike is for you. You are going to take one of the most beautiful photos of Tierra del Fuego.
We will pick you up at your hotel, and we will travel 16 kilometers by vehicle along National Route No. 3 until we reach the beginning of the path. The adventure begins!
In total, 9 kilometers (round trip) await you walking through the forest: glacial valleys, beaver farms, peat bogs and the Fuegian magic that accompanies you throughout the journey.
This walk is considered of medium difficulty, and does not present significant unevenness.
Itinerary
First we will go through your accommodation to take you 22km outside the city towards the head of the trail, Valle de Lobos.
Once there, the guide will explain the dynamics of the excursion and will give us all the technical talk.
Then, we will start a walk of just over 2 hours through the valleys of the Andes mountain range. We will pass through beaver farms, streams and rivers, peat bogs and lots of native flora and fauna that our professional mountain rescue guide will point out and explain to us.
We will arrive at the Esmerlada Lagoon around noon, we will rest for a while, we will eat a box lunch to recover energy while we enjoy the beauty of the lagoon landscape.
After the well-deserved rest, we will start the return home walking for around 2 and a half hours, returning to the head of the trail where our transport will be waiting for us to take us home.
We will walk a total of about 9 km in 6 hours of excursion.
