Highlights
At Howlanders, we know that visiting the Uyuni Salt Flat from San Pedro is a tour that offers incredible landscapes.
This is a classic four-day tour departing and returning to San Pedro de Atacama. Destinations include the Altiplanic Lagoons, the Siloli Desert, the Polques Hot Springs, and last but not least the Uyuni Salt Flat, where you’ll spend the entire morning.
The tour offers two lodging options:
Shared room: for the first night and third night of the tour. The second night you’ll be staying in a private room at the Salt Hostel. Yes, you read that right :)
Private room: each night you’ll stay in a private room.

Upon confirmation of the tour, Howlanders will send you the guide's contact information to coordinate the pick-up. The guide will pick you up at your accommodations in San Pedro de Atacama at 7:00 AM. Once all your fellow travelers are picked up you will board the shuttle bus that will take you to the Bolivian border, where you’ll get your passports stamped and enter a seven-seater 4x4 to start your adventure.Salvador Dali Desert
3 hoursAdmission Ticket Not IncludedAcross the border lies the Eduardo Avaroa National Andean Fauna Reserve, where you’ll spend most of the day. Your first stops will be the White Lagoon and Green Lagoon, located at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano. In the rainy season (January-March) you will head to the flooded salt flat to experience the surreal mirror effect. 3 hoursAdmission Ticket FreeAfter two days of lunching in a "portable restaurant" provided by your multitalented driver, today is the day you get to enjoy a sit-down restaurant! Colchani hosts great restaurants and it’s time to take advantage of them. Following lunch, you’ll head to the outskirts of Uyuni, to view the train cemetery, a landscape formed by the remains of what was once a symbol of Bolivian development. 5 hoursAdmission Ticket FreeAt 5:00 AM you’ll eat breakfast in the dining room of the accommodations, then head for the border between Chile and Bolivia, a journey of approximately four hours. After completing the border crossing you’ll board the private shuttle bus that will take you to San Pedro de Atacama where you’re set to arrive around 1:00 PM.
