Highlights
Immerse yourself in the peaceful Alpine beauty of Bavaria's mountaintops, a stark contrast to the sinister past that lurks within. Transport yourself back to 1930s Germany and uncover the chilling origins of Europe's darkest hour. Visit the NS-Documentation Center to gain a harrowing insight into the crimes against humanity concocted by Hitler and the Nazi party. It's unfathomable how such a tranquil place played a pivotal role in shaping Europe's post-war scars. Delve into the secrets of Obersalzberg, the clandestine meeting place where Hitler and the Nazi High Command plotted the Third Reich's domination of Europe and the world. Marvel at the famous Eagle's Nest, perched atop Obersalzberg, offering a haunting reminder of the atrocities planned within its walls. The remote location provided a safe haven for Hitler's inner circle, despite his personal disdain for the breathtaking surroundings. Today, the building stands as a restaurant and visitor center, bearing witness to a dark chapter in history.

Good tour, full of explanations and information. Ride was comfortable
The day long tour was great. A beautiful day with not a cloud in the sky and visibility was for miles. The view from the Eagles Nest was worth the ticket price alone. On top of the fare, we paid an additional Euro 35 per person for admission to the Eagles Nest, which we were aware off and paid to the tour guide whilst on the bus driving down. The drive was about 2 hours. The views were amazing. The documentation museum and bunker which are seperate to the Nest were great. Leave yourself up to 2 hours to do this part. Lunch was terrible. My wife ordered vegetable soup which was more like flavoured water. Not one vegetable to be found. My advice is to take a light snack with you and spend more time in the bunker. Our tour guide Johnny was good and informative. Our driver was good but I don’t think he should have been playing with his mobile phone and watching while driving a bus with 46 people on board. Thought that was a bit strange. All in all, a great day.
