Nowadays the palace is an administrative building, housing Romania's Chamber of Deputies, also large conference halls, and salons used for distinct purposes such as events. Take the chance to visit The People's House interior and discover its beautifully preserved architecture, the massive chandeliers, mirrors, and impressive furniture.

    The Romanian Orthodox Patriarchal Cathedral dates back from the 17th century and it is situated on a small hill, named the Mitropoly Hill, in the heart of Bucharest, very close to Unirii Square (Piata Unirii). Besides being a national symbol of the Orthodox faith, the Patriarchal Church has also a big historical importance. On the Mitropoly Hill, major historical events had place, as, for example, The Unification of the Romanian Principalities of Wallachia and Moldova, voted on 24th of January 1859, by the Elective Assembly and the proclamation of the Independence of the country, in 1878 and of the Kingdom, three years later.
