Amagertorv, today part of the Strøget pedestrian zone, is often described as the most central square in central Copenhagen, Denmark. Second only to Gammeltorv, it is also one of the oldest, taking its name from the Amager farmers who in the Middle Ages came into town to sell their produce at the site.

The Round Tower - The 17th century tower and observatory Rundetaarn, or the round tower, is the oldest functioning observatory in Europe. When he died in 1601, the King wished to continue Brahe's research, and thus the round tower came into being. The Copenhagen Cathedral in its present shape is an unpretentious building in Neo-Classicist style designed by the architect C.F. Hansen.
