The Ahu Akivi of Easter Island are 7 moais that face the Pacific Ocean and represent the 7 explorers that were sent by King Hotu to Matua before his colonizing trip. According to various studies, the Ahu Akivi were built between 1442 and 1600 and it is estimated that they were restored between 1960 and 1961.
