Enjoy the approximately 50-minute drive to Chacchoben village, where you’ll meet a local Maya family and discover a more personal side of Costa Maya’s culture. Spend approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes with your hosts, learning about their traditions and daily life. Watch a traditional tortilla-making demonstration and try making your own, while discovering the fresh ingredients, local spices, and family recipes used in Maya cooking. Then sit down for an authentic home-cooked lunch prepared especially for your visit, including traditional tamales and other dishes made with fresh local ingredients. Add a little habanero sauce if you’re feeling adventurous! After lunch, continue approximately 25 minutes to Bacalar Lagoon for the second part of your adventure.Lago Bacalar (Lake of the Seven Colors)

This tour will depart one hour after your cruise arrives to port from Plaza Las Fuentes, conveniently located just a few steps away from the main access of Costa Maya Port.
Please note that the total walking time from your cruise ship to the meeting point is about 15 minutes.

This experience is best appreciated by children ages 6 and older.
Life jackets are mandatory for all water activities and are provided.
Children must be 10 years or older to paddle a single kayak alone. Children under 10 may kayak with a supervising adult.

Guests 21 and older receive two alcoholic beverages. Additional premium drinks may be purchased separately.

Late Arrivals / No-Shows: Guests who arrive late or fail to show up for their scheduled activity are not eligible for a refund.
The lagoon portion is not wheelchair accessible due to the natural terrain and access points.
Kayaking is not permitted for pregnant guests.
For kayaking, the maximum weight is 220 lbs for a single kayak or 270 lbs combined for a double kayak.
Transportation vehicles can accommodate foldable wheelchairs only. Vehicles are not wheelchair-adapted, and non-folding wheelchairs cannot be accommodated.
