Your Adventure starts from the Witsieshoek hotel early in the morning after breakfast where we get a shuttle up to the Sentinel Car Park. Our hike up the mountain starts from here. This is a hike in the Drakensberg that takes you up the highest mountain in South Africa to Sentinel Peak and to the top of the Tugela Falls. The Tugela Falls are the highest falls in the world at 948m. The summit is 3100 m above sea level. At this height you can see Mount Aux and the Amphitheater. The hiking route is really exciting and has two routes to the top - the Sentinel Gorge route is for experienced or fitter hikers and the chain ladder is challenging but a lot easier. This is a hikers dream and a challenging hike that can take up to 9 hours up and down. The hike is fully inclusive and includes transport from Johannesburg or Pretoria to Witsieshoek. One nights accommodation at the hotel, your hike and transport back to Johannesburg. We also offer another option of camping overnight on top of the mountain. This is extreme as the weather conditions can change dramatically overnight at this altitude. We also do 3 and 4 day hiking tours to other areas in the Drakensberg. A bucket list experience
