Admission Ticket FreeThis is the second of the two lookouts for Waimea Canyon. Here at the end of the parking lot is the trailhead for Canyon Trail. The trail signs are a little confusing, so read the description under Hiking in our app Highlights before hiking. Puʻu Hinahina offers expansive views of Waimea Canyon and the surrounding landscape. The Puʻu Hinahina parking lot is currently closed, so do not stop unless official signage indicates safe, legal access. The tour is a there-and-back drive with stories and stops all the way to Pu'u O Kila Lookout and back.
Waimea Canyon/Kōkeʻe State Parks charge their own visitor entry/parking fees, paid directly at the parks.
There are two tour start options near Lawai - coming from Koloa/Poipu or from Lihue.
Fees can be paid with credit card at any of the parking lot kiosks and are valid for both parks.
The only food stop in Koke’e State Park is Koke’e Lodge; otherwise, you’ll find options in Waimea Town and Hanapepe.
Waimea Canyon and Kōkeʻe State Parks charge separate visitor entrance and parking fees, paid directly to the parks. Fees are not collected by Shaka Guide.
