4 hoursAdmission Ticket FreeBy 02:00 am in the very early morning, you will be taken to visit: Mount Sinai: Known locally as Gebel Musa, Mt Sinai is revered by Christians, Muslims, and Jews, all of whom believe that God delivered his Ten Commandments to Moses at its summit. All hikers must be accompanied by a local Bedouin guide (hired from the monastery car park). You will go down by 07:00 am then you will be transferred to visit St Catherine Monastery: This ancient monastery traces its founding to about AD 330 when Byzantine empress Helena had a small chapel and a fortified refuge for local hermits built beside what was believed to be the burning bush from which God spoke to Moses. Today St Catherine’s is considered one of the oldest continuously functioning monastic communities in the world. If the monastery museum is locked, ask the Church of the Transfiguration for the key.
