For all devotees of Padre Pio, we organize private pilgrimages to San Giovanni Rotondo to venerate the body of the Saint's. The journey from Sorrento is about three and a half hours. The driver is not a guide but on the way to S.Giovanni Rotondo he will tell you all about Padre Pio life. Once you arrive at San Giovanni R., he will point out where to go and all the places to visit, you start from the original small Church, to the convent to see the room where he lived the last 50 years of his life, the Crucifix where he received the stigmate while praying it in 1918, the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie and the original crypt where Padre Pio was buried from the date of his death in September 1968 until 2008. After all this you walk and visit the new Sanctuary where the Body of the Saint's can be venerated in a glass coffin.
Local guides are available under reservation, the cost for 2 hrs of a private guide is € 100 to be paid only cash directly to the guide at the end of the service.
