There we will board a ferry to the famous island of Mykonos. It is said that the meaning of the name of this island is connected with the hero “Mykono”, son of the luminous god Apollo, so it could be interpreted as “place of light”. Upon our arrival in Mykonos, one of our representatives will be waiting for us to welcome us, transfer us to our hotel and explain a bit more about the island. The name of the island is the deformation of the name given to it in the Middle Ages by Venetian merchants. They called it Saint Irene, because she was the patron saint of the island. In 1576 Santorini became part of the Duchy of Naxos, until the Turkish conquest of Piyale Pasha. Optionally, and if weather conditions permit, we can purchase a dazzling sailboat ride that visits the small islands located inside the caldera, Nea and Palea Kameni. There, the hot springs of green and yellow waters are located. Throughout the tour, the city of Fira will accompany us as a faithful witness from the height.
