• If you hold a driver's license issued by one of the 7 countries/regions (Switzerland, Germany, France, Taiwan, Belgium, Slovenia, or Monaco), you may drive in Japan for up to one year from the date of entry with your license and its Japanese translation. Please present these two documents along with your passport at the rental shop to process your rental. Travelers from other countries must hold an International Driving Permit (IDP) and their own passport to drive in Japan.

- About Insurance -

• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) (Included in the price)

• Insurance will not cover the following situations:
  
  1. Failure to report to the police (no accident report from the police)
  
  2. Accidents caused by driving without a license, or driving under the
  influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
  
  3. Accidents caused by a driver whose license was not submitted.
  
  4. Damage or soiling to interior/exterior equipment, or loss of keys not
  caused by a vehicle accident.
  
  5. Driving in areas prone to vehicle damage, such as riverbeds or forest
  roads.
  
  6. Misfueling & flat tires.
  
  7. Fines & penalties resulting from violations of local Japanese traffic
  laws.
  
  8. Accidents occurring after the scheduled rental period has expired.

  
  

• NOC (Non-Operation Charge) Insurance (Included in the price)
  
  NOC insurance exempts you from compensating the rental company for business
  losses incurred while the vehicle is out of service.
  
  In the event of an accident, this insurance does not apply to cases where the
  accident was not reported to the police or the company, cases where insurance
  or compensation cannot be claimed, accidents resulting from violations of the
  rental agreement, or accidents caused by unauthorized extension of the rental
  period. In such cases, you will be responsible for compensating the rental
  company for business losses (20,000 to 50,000 JPY per accident, depending on
  the vehicle model).
