Drive from Dar es Salaam to Bagamoyo Historical Town. This will take about 90 minutes from Dar es Salaam. On arrival you will start with visiting Kaole ruins. Kaole is a small town and archaeological site in Tanzania, located 6 km east of Bagamoyo on the Indian Ocean coast. The area contains old stone ruins dating to a period between the 13th century and the 16th century. The ruins date back to the 13th century and consist of two mosques and 30 tombs. The tombs at Kaole were built from coral stones with stone pillars that marked some of the tombs. A small museum has been established, where some artifacts are exposed that were found in the ruins. Some of these artifacts are Chinese and thus provide evidence of ancient commercial relationships.

After visiting Kaole Ruins you will have a tour in Bagamoyo Old stone town. You will visit all attraction includes Caravanserai, visiting Old Boma which was the First German State House in East Africa, Old Fort, Catholic museum, German customs house, old port in East Africa, the first cross erected by the Missionary on the coast of East Africa, Dr. Livingstone’s church, the fish market and many others places if time permits.
