That’s the best birthday gift for my wife and dining experience for us as a couple. Great service as usual and the nice scenery throughout the entire trip from Fukuoka to Omuta. Highly recommended.
The thrill of the experience is the meal and the attention given by the service staff. It was a nice surprise to have at 2 designated points of the journey (both ways) to have locals waving to the train with their little flags/ banners. The meal was a visual experience, though the portions may not be enough for a big eater. A nice way to spend one's holiday that is different from the usual tourist experiences. Lots of photography opportunities on and off the train at the stop-over station.

The food was new, but the liver and taste were just that. However, I enjoyed the situation around me while eating. I don't think I will visit many times, but it is worth experiencing once.
It was pleasant, I think we were the only tourists in the first car among Japanese travellers. The food was unique but serving sizes were similar to omakase. We had a chance to take a photo with the Chef onboard. The scenery along the route is city vibe, not much greenery. The staff were friendly and the train captain sang for us. Overall it's the experience we went for.
