- Spot Introduction -
Deoksugung Palace
It is one of Korea's five major royal palaces and is famous for being the
stage for numerous historical events. Originally, it was the private residence
of Prince Wolsan, the elder brother of King Seongjong, the 9th king of the
Joseon Dynasty. After the Imjin War, it was renamed Gyeongun Palace and used
as the royal palace for seven years in place of the burnt-down Gyeongbokgung
Palace. It's surprising that it's located right in the middle of a business
district with towering skyscrapers.
