－What You Can Expect－


Head to Ohara, a rural village, nestled in northern Kyoto mountains. This
lovely spot has Japanese style gardens, temple halls, moss gardens. Gaze at
vivid maple and cedar trees during mid November.


Enryakuji Temple is located on Mount Hieizan. Stroll along a scenic forest
trail filled with lovely autumn colors. Glimpse the 780s as you learn about
Tendai Buddhism. Visit Ninai Hall, which was said to be carried by a monk
named Benkei. He is known for his legendary strength. Taste aisu kyuri, which
are cucumbers pickled in seaweed flavored ice water.


Visit Sanzen-in Temple and wander through Japanese-style gardens. Get

Ojo-Gokuraku-in, which is famous for its funazoko (boat bottom ceiling). View
