Mangue de Pedras is different from other mangroves around the world, which form on muddy soil and at the mouth of rivers, the mangrove in Buzios is formed by gravel and coarse sand, with no rivers nearby to discharge fresh water. This action is done by rainwater infiltrated into the ground.
To complete the unique landscape, the scenery features large trees with roots braided amidst rocks and small natural pools. Parallel to the beach and the mangrove, the typical vegetation of the region displays cacti and bromeliads in a rare combination for a mangrove environment.
Ponta do Pai Vitório is formed by tectonic movements, the “fault” – as the Ponta is called by geologists – impresses for the “set of the work”. Covered by dense vegetation and advancing over the sea amid rocks, it creates an exotic and wild landscape, perfect for many recordings.
