Features of Okuhida Hirayu Onsen

Hirayu Onsen, surrounded by the distinct scent of sulfur, is known as one of Japan’s most famous hot springs, boasting the oldest history in the Okuhida region.
Within the Hirayu Onsen area, there are about 40 wells and hot spring sources, producing an abundant flow of 13,000 liters per minute. Reaching temperatures as high as 90°C, the waters are rich in sodium, calcium, magnesium, and bicarbonate. They are said to be effective for gastrointestinal disorders, rheumatic diseases, neuralgia, and skin conditions, and have long been used as therapeutic baths.
