Slow down, get creative, and discover the beauty of batik in this hands-on woodenware workshop. Guided by an instructor, you’ll learn how this traditional art form is made and why it holds cultural meaning. Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned crafter, the session is designed to be calming, easy to follow, and enjoyable.
Choose from ready-made design templates or sketch your own pattern onto a wooden piece, with no drawing skill required. You’ll apply hot wax using a tjanting, add vibrant dyes, and watch your design come to life through the classic batik resist technique. At the end, your finished wooden batik item will be made waterproof and washable, so you can bring home a personalised piece that is suitable for food serving.

- On 24 October, all activities will be held at Curbside Crafters due to the closure of the other venue.
- On 29 November, the activity timing will be 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, and the venue will be The Art Faculty.
- On 19 December, the venue will be Curbside Crafters.
- A minimum of 4 participants is required for this class to run. In the event that the minimum number is not met, we will assist you with rescheduling.

- Suitable for beginners and seasoned crafters.
- Participants must be above 8 years old.
