Highlights

Both Japanese and foreign tourists like to collect goshuins at temples and shrines. So, I will help you to take 4 - 7 goshuins during this tour.


First of all, we visit Harukas Garden of Abeno Harukas. It's located on the 16th floor of Abeno Harukas without entrance fee. Please check the pictures of Harukas Garden.


Next, we visit Horikoshi Shrine and Shitennoji Temple which were established by Prince Shotoku in 593. At Shitennoji you can walk up to the top of 5-story pagoda.


We also visit the temples and shrines below around Tennoji Park. You will be able to get 4-7 goshuins at the following places:


  1. Horikoshi Shrine - stamp goshuin
  2. Shitennoji Temple - handwriting goshuin
  3. Oe Shrine - handwriting goshuin
  4. Kiyomizu Temple (Osaka) - 2 handwriting goshuins
  5. Yasui Shrine - stamp goshuin
  6. Isshinji Temple - handwriting goshuin

Please note that if the staff is not in the office at shrines or temples, you cannot take a goshuin. But you will be able to get at least 4 goshuins.

Itinerary

  • Abeno Harukas

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Free
    We will go to Harukas Garden on the 16th floor of Abeno Harukas. It is free to enter and we can view the city of Osaka and Mt. Ikoma in the west. Harukas is 300m high with the second tallest building in Japan. The garden is located in 80m. Please note that we do NOT visit the observation decks on the 58 to 60th floors which require 1800 yen for the entrance fee.
  • TEN-SHIBA

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Free
    TEN-SHIBA is the east side of Tennoji Park. TEN is named after Tennoji and SHIBA means grass or lawn. It was developed by Kintetsu Group in 2015. Fashionable restaurants are lined up. A lot of Japanese family come here for the picnic on the weekends.
  • Tokoku-ji Temple

    Tokokuji has the two Berlin walls wishing the unification of North Korea and South Korea.
  • Horikoshi Shrine

    5 minsAdmission Ticket Free
    Horikoshi Shrine was also built by Prince Shotoku in 593 when Shitennoji Temple was built by Prince Shotoku in 593. This temple was built to mourn the assassinated emperor who was the uncle of Prince Shotoku.
  • Shitennoji

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Not Included
    Please note that you have to pay 300 yen for the entrance fee. It's said that Shitennoji Temple has the ashes of Buddha on the top floor of 5-story pagoda and the in the mail hall in front of the pagoda.
  • Shinkoji Temple

    5 minsAdmission Ticket Free
    Shinkoji Temple near Shitennoji Yuhigaoka Station was built in 1394. There is a unique Draemon graze in this temple. If you have kids, this temple is worth visiting.
  • Kiyomizu-dera

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Free
    The Bodhisattva was brough from Kyoto's Kiyomizu-dera to this temple in 1640. There is a waterfall whose water comes from the basement of Shitennoji Temple. The terrace of this temple is standing on the Uemati-daichi Plateau. People could view the sunset over the ocean from this terrace long time ago. You can get two handwritten goshuin here. One goshuin costs 300 yen.
  • Keitaku-en Garden

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Not Included
    Keitaku-en Garden was built for Sumitomo family in 1918 by Jihei Ogawa who created many gardens in Kyoto, such as Heian Jingu and Yasaka Jinja Shrine. The garden is a Japanese style garden where people walk around a pond. You will be able to see carps and a heron in the pond. Please note that the entrance fee needs to be paid 150 yen in cash.
  • Chausu-yama

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Free
    Toyotomi family was defeated by Tokugawa family 1615 at the battle held around Chasuyama, Tennoji. Toyotomi unified Japan in 1590 and established Osaka Caster 1598.
  • Shinsekai

    15 minsAdmission Ticket Free
    We will visit Shisekai and finish the tour.
