The oldest fort in the Philippines. As a fort facing the sea, it was originally built to defend against foreign enemies, but was later used as a barracks during the American colonial period and as a prisoner of war camp during the Japanese colonial period.

It houses a large cross that Magellan made when he landed in the Philippines. It was believed that drinking a decoction of the cross would cure illness, so most of the cross was scraped off, but it is now carefully preserved in a hexagonal hall and covered with a wooden cover.
