This amazing experience begins on the beach at Rapid Bay on the lower Fleurieu
Peninsula about 90 km south of Adelaide. Here the rugged coastline is
spectacular with towering cliffs and crystal-clear water, a great place for a
sea kayaking adventure. Sea Kayaking is a great way to explore South

This is the most adventurous sea kayaking tour we offer and is conducted over
the warmer months. Dates are advertised via our Facebook page so like us to
receive updates. You can also give us a call or email to check when the next
tour will run.
TOUR INFORMATION
The tour begins on the beach at Rapid Bay and after instruction on safety,
paddling and fitting of the gear we are off to visit isolated beaches,
mysterious sea caves and view seals, sea lions and sea eagles that inhabit
this area.
Sea kayaking is not only great for your health it is also the most
environmentally friendly way to interact with this environment and its
inhabitants. The tour fee includes all kayaking equipment, guidance, lunch and
non-alcoholic drinks. We pride ourselves on offering fresh, local foods and
can cater for special dietary requirements on request.
Lunch is a healthy build your own "sub" or salad on a beautiful, isolated
sandy beach, only accessible by small boat. This includes a selection of meats
and fresh salads. Special dietary requirements can be catered for.
INCLUSIONS
- We provide quality 2-person sea kayaks which are very stable and easy to use
- Comfortable buoyancy vests
- Friendly guidance that will make the experience both safe and great fun.
REQUIREMENTS
- This tour is suitable for those who love the sea, have sound fitness and past kayaking experience.
- We cover 12-14 Km during the tour which may be beyond the limit of novice paddlers or those who do not exercise regularly.
- This tour is for adults and children 15 years and over.
WEATHER POLICY
This tour is highly weather dependent...we will only go out if weather is
virtually calm. We will phone you 2-4 days prior to the date of the tour to
confirm conditions are suitable. In the case of bad weather cancellations we
are happy to reschedule your booking for another day, or you could transfer to
one of our Dolphin Sanctuary and Ships Graveyard Tours near Port Adelaide
depending on availability.

Thank you for booking in to our Rapid Bay Sea Kayaking Tour
Please be prepared for a fun experience on the water! If you have not provided
an Australian mobile number, please call us 48 hours prior to your tour to
confirm booking details and that the weather is suitable.
We use 2-person kayaks on this tour for stability and ease of use. If you have
booked as a single ticket you will be paired with another participant. Single
kayaks may be used when there are an uneven number of participants attending
or on special requests that are arranged prior, but they are not guaranteed.
We meet you on the foreshore at Rapid Bay at 9-30am. Look for the kayak
trailer to the north of the camping ground. The day’s plan is to explore the
Fleurieu coast line, visit some spectacular isolated beaches for lunch, marvel
the incredible cliff faces and hopefully spot some local marine life. The tour
route and access to the different beaches will be determined by wind
speed/direction and swells on the day and is not guaranteed. Our healthy lunch
menu is a build your own roll. You will have ham, chicken, salami and fresh
salads to choose from. Non-alcoholic drinks are also supplied. Please let us
know any special dietary requirements at least 72 hours prior to your tour.
YOU WILL NEED
- Dress appropriately for the weather and to protect yourself from the sun.
- A long sleeved top and shorts are suitable most days.
- Wise to bring a raincoat/jacket in case the weather cools down.
- Hat, sunglasses, water bottle and shoes that can get wet (sandals, running shoes, deck shoes are suitable).
- Thongs, Crocs (or similar), Sandals and bare feet are not suitable as we may be walking over rocks.
- We will have dry bags you can use to store your jacket and personal items in the kayak.

WEATHER
If we assess the weather to be unsafe, Adventure Kayak SA may have to cancel
or postpone/delay the tour. We will attempt to do this a week prior. On the
actual day of service, weather conditions may still require our immediate
intervention.
If we have to change the session, we will offer the next time slot or cancel
providing the opportunity for rescheduling.
