It is 1910. And a coolie has just arrived in Singapore after a weeklong journey from Guangdong province, in a crowded and dingy Chinese junk boat. From the Singapore River, he offers prayers and gratitude at a nearby temple before finding a job to settle down in a new country. Itinerary

  • Raffles Place Exit A (4:00PM)

    Take the escalator up from Raffles Place MRT Exit A to meet at Raffles Place open air plaza

  • Singapore River

    Tour around the Singapore river, a nearby temple and admire the unique architecture of the shophouses.

  • Chinatown

    Discover the stories of the early immigrants in Chinatown and learn how Singapore progressed from third to a first-world nation.

  • UOB Plaza 1 (6:00PM)

    The tour ends back at the starting point.
