Today, we will pick you up in the morning to leave Puerto Madryn and drive 120km (75 miles) south to visit Punta Tombo Provincial Reserve, which houses the largest colony of Magellanic penguins in South America.

After a 2-hour drive along the Patagonian roads, we will arrive at the rookery. The colony's population reaches over half a million birds during the peak season, and the best time to visit is between October and April. One of the greatest features of this reserve is the fact that you can literally walk among the penguins and observe their habits. You will have the opportunity to see how they feed their chicks, defend their territory, build their nests, and of course watch their characteristic waddle as they get in and out of the sea. We will stay at the reserve for no less than 3 hours in which we will also visit the Punta Tombo Interpretive Center. Not included: Lunch, entrance fee to the Provincial Reserve.
