1. This Pelago 10k Challenge (the “ Contest”) is organised by Encounters Pte Ltd (“Pelago”).
2. The Contest will commence on 23 May 2025 at 08:00 (Singapore time) and end at 22:00 (Singapore time) or when all prizes are awarded, whichever occurs first (the “Contest Date”).
3. ELIGIBILITY
Only participants who meet the following criteria are eligible to participate in the Contest:-
Holds a valid 6-character air ticket booking reference number (PNR) for an upcoming flight on either Singapore Airlines (SIA) or Scoot at the point of contest date;
The flight must be a forward booking at the point of verification. A forward booking refers to a reservation of a flight that has not yet departed at the point of verification. For the avoidance of doubt, the travel date NEED NOT fall on the Contest Period;
Has a Singapore bank account which can receive money either through Paynow or bank transfer
4. To participate in the Contest:-
Eligible participants must book a Grab Ride to either Changi Airport Terminal 1 (T1), Changi Airport Terminal 2 (T2) or Changi Airport Terminal 3 (T3) on the Contest Date (the “Qualifying Grab Ride”);
On the Contest Date, 10 Grab vehicles will be deployed to fulfil these Qualifying Grab Rides;
Eligible participants whose Qualifying Grab Rides are fulfilled by these Grab vehicles will be invited to participate in the Contest.
A locked luggage will be placed in each of the 10 Grab vehicles with instructions on how to unlock the luggage. The instructions to unlock the luggage will include a process where the eligible participants have to verify their PNR on their Pelago app with a Pelago staff upon arrival at Changi Airport.
5. The first 10 eligible participants who:-
arrives in Changi Airport on Grab vehicles;
locates a Pelago staff member and brings the locked luggage to the Pelago Staff member;
completes verification of their PNR on their Pelago app with the Pelago staff member; and
successfully unlocks the locked luggage, will be declared winners for the Contest (the “Winners”)
6. Inside each locked luggage is a surprise prize of 10,000 units in one of these global currencies. These currencies that may be awarded are Thai Baht, Japanese Yen, Singapore Dollars, Malaysian Ringgit, Hong Kong Dollars, Chinese Yuan Renminbi. The surprise element of the global currency is designed to be part of the fun. As such, the value of the prize will vary amongst Winners.
7. All prizes will be converted to Singapore Dollars (SGD) based on the exchange rate published on Oanda.com on 22 May 2025. The final SGD amount will be transferred to the Winners via Paynow or bank transfer within 30 days from 23 May 2025.
8. All prizes are final and are non-transferable and not exchangeable for other forms of compensation.
9. By taking part in this Contest, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and accept that Pelago’s decision on all matters relating to the Contest is final and binding on you. You also agree that any and all personal data submitted may be collected, used, disclosed, or otherwise processed by Pelago for the purposes of the Contest and the Prize, including to communicate with the Winner on collection of the Prize. All collection, use and disclosure of participant’s personal data will be in accordance with Pelago’s Privacy Policy (available online at https://pages.pelago.co/en-sg/privacy-policy).
10. By participating in the Contest, participants hereby agree and authorize Pelago, to use at its discretion, without further compensation to the participants to disclose and use any of their names, personal details, photographs, videotapes or any likeness of them for packaging, promotional, advertising, marketing and/or publicity purposes (where not prohibited by written law), and to the use of statements or any creative content made by or attributed to the Winners, and any rights in connection therewith. The participant shall not own any intellectual property rights (including moral rights) to any of his or her work or creations submitted in connection with the Contest and accordingly agree to unconditionally waive all such rights.
11. By entering this Contest, all participants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless Pelago and its affiliates from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this Contest and the acceptance of the Prize.
12. Pelago will not assume responsibility or liability whatsoever for damages, loss or injury resulting from the participant participating in the Contest or for any use of the Prize.
13. Pelago reserves the right to verify the validity and originality of any entry and/or the identity of the participant and to disqualify any participant who is not eligible, or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The demise of a participant automatically disqualifies their entry.
14. Pelago has the right to remove any entries or block any users using profanity, racial slurs, foul language or comments that may be deemed as an attack on Pelago or the Contest. By participating in this Contest to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, hateful, threatening, or otherwise in violation of any law.
15. Pelago reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions, terminate or otherwise amend this Contest without prior notice at its sole and absolute discretion.
16. Each participant of the Contest grants Instagram a complete release from any liability and exempts Pelago from any liability arising from any act, omission or default in connection with the use and operation of the operating platforms for Instagram over which Pelago has no control. This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Instagram.
17. Pelago shall not be responsible for any auxiliary expenses incurred or damage or injury suffered as a result of, or in connection with the Contest and/or redemption or use of the Prize howsoever arising. The Winner is also responsible for all applicable taxes (including but not limited to, federal, state, local and/or income) on the Prize. For the avoidance of doubt, cancellation, termination or suspension by Pelago of this Contest shall not entitle any party to any claim or compensation against Pelago for any and all losses or damage suffered or incurred as a direct or indirect result of the act of cancellation, termination or suspension.
18. This Contest and the terms and conditions shall be governed by Singapore law and each participant agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
19. A person who is not a party to any agreement governed by these terms and conditions shall have no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap 53B) to enforce any terms of such agreement.
