Highlights
The Kecak dance was created in the 1930s by a Balinese artist named Wayan Limbak and a German painter named Walter Spies. The Balinese Kecak dance is inspired by the Sanghyang dance. Sanghyang dance itself is a sacred Balinese dance that is performed in Hindu temples to drive away misfortune and disease. The original Kecak dance is only performed by men aged 50 years and over.
Meanwhile, the name of the Kecak dance is inspired by the word “Cak… cak… cak…” which is chanted throughout the dance performance. In the past, the Balinese Kecak dance was only performed in certain areas, such as Bona Village in Gianyar Regency. Day after day, Kecak is performed in almost all areas of Bali, especially on special occasions to welcome guests. But nowadays, this dance drama is shown everywhere in Bali, especially in culture-based tourist destinations.

We really enjoyed watching kecak dance!! It’s so unique, epics, great costumes and performances on top of that with beautiful scenery off Melasti beach soo perfect and amazing. It’s a must to do for anyone visiting Bali
We went here last day before our holiday and it was such a lovely experience. Having watched Ramayan on Nepali television as a young child, this was a surreal experience. Would highly recommend!

There was no problem with purchase, buying online is cheaper than on the place. Maybe more fire show is in uluwatu.
Beautiful experience watching the kecak by the sea. Nice ambience, great weather, seamless ticketing by Pelago. You will need to exchange your ticket with an entrance band. The show itself didn't quite meet my expectation as I wasn't expecting a comedic element, but audience engagement was fantastic. Giving four stars due to a minor transport issue getting out of the beach - couldn't catch a Grab / Gojek ride. Need to rely on taxis that I felt were overpriced.
