This was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan and an absolute must-do in Kyoto! Kevin was an amazing guide—warm, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. We were unfortunately running about 15 minutes late, but he very kindly waited for us without any fuss, which we really appreciated and set the tone for a wonderful evening. Walking through the beautiful streets of Gion at night truly felt like being transported back to old Kyoto. Kevin took us to stunning locations that we would never have discovered on our own and shared fascinating stories about the history of the district, the lives of geisha and maiko, and Japanese culture and traditions. What impressed us most was the respect he showed for local customs. He explained the etiquette around geisha, the significance of the historic streets and teahouses, and helped us understand the traditions in a way that was both engaging and respectful. We were even lucky enough to spot a geisha during the tour, making the experience even more memorable. If you're visiting Kyoto, don't miss this tour.
