Popular content of water puppet shows express the peaceful daily activities of Vietnamese farmers including: cultivating, directing buffalo, catching fishes, public entertainment (swimming contest, rice cooking contest…) together with many historical legends, performed in a modest way that has attracted audiences for centuries. The interesting show is performed in a water pool with the water surface being the stage.
