The picturesque Miragaia district is known for its cobbled streets lined with villas and small restaurants serving typical Portuguese dishes.

Its construction implied the construction of the huge platform of the pier where the Customs is based and which replaced the old Miragaia beach. This set of modifications is considered by many to be one of the most profound urban and landscape changes of the city of Porto in the 19th century.

Pasteleira Urban Park is a public park located in the parish of Lordelo do Ouro. It extends over an extensive area of forest, divided into two plots by Afonso de Paiva Street, connected by three wooden pontoons.

The real name of this bridge is Luiz I and not, as it is popularly called, D. Luís I. A sentimental question of the people of Porto seems to be the origin of the name by which it is commonly known. Regardless of the name, it is an ex-libris of the city and has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.

Located right in the historic center of Porto, Praça da Ribeira, next to the quay with the same name, is one of the oldest squares in the city, already mentioned in royal letters in 1389. It was in this area of Ribeira and in its commercial connection with the Douro River that the city began its frank development and turned to the river. This led to the infamous Ponte das Barcas, where in 1809 more than 4,000 people died during an onslaught of French troops. Today a bronze bas-relief attests to this moment.
