Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, located in the Wulingyuan District of northwestern Hunan Province, is China’s first national forest park and an important part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage. The park is renowned for its unique peaks, bizarre rocks, deep valleys, and seas of clouds, featuring over 3,000 quartz sandstone pillars, with Yuanjiajie, Golden Whip Stream, and Huangshizhai being the most representative scenic areas. The park offers different scenery in each season—flowers in spring, lush greenery in summer, red leaves in autumn, and frost in winter—earning the reputation of “an enlarged bonsai and a miniature wonderland.” Its unique peak forest landscape, known as “China’s First Wonderous Mountain,” also inspired the floating mountains in the movie Avatar, attracting visitors from around the world.
