Itinerary
Start of Tour (8:00AM)
MandaLao tour guides will pick up guests from hotels and guesthouses. Please wait in the lobby of your hotel/guesthouse.Arrive at MandaLao
Get an in-depth introduction to elephant behavior and communication.Meet the Elephants
Cross the Nam Khan River by long-tail boat for the first introduction to the elephants. MandaLao guides will introduce guests to the elephants and mahouts, providing background on our elephants. You'll receive some bananas and/or sugar cane to feed the elephants.Trek
Pass beautiful Lao gardens before exploring the jungle-covered Huay Nok stream. Walk with the elephants through the jungle as they interact with each other and forage for native foods. MandaLao guides continue to explain elephant behavior as they guide guests through the forest. The trek is 2.5 km and takes about 1.5 hours, it is flat and shaded most of the way.Goodbye Elephants
After some final treats for the elephants, guests leave the elephants and mahouts in the jungle and begin the trek back to MandaLao with their guide.Lunch
Enjoy traditional Lao cuisine made primarily from MandaLao's own organic produce.End of Tour (12:00PM)
