The Reserve is located on Maputo Bay 100 kilometers from Maputo and it is a conservation area and its 1040 km2 big (only 173 Km2 smaller than New York City – water and land area), the reserve combines lakes, wetlands, swamp forests, grasslands, mangrove forests with a pristine coastline
We have 2 main beach spots to camp at Maputo Special Reserve: Dobela and Membene.
Driving around the reserve towards our campsite, you will find the vast open areas where elephants and other plain games refresh themselves; you will drive pass different fresh water lagoons with a lot of great variety of birds, hippos, and crocodiles.
