This Tibetan settlement area was established by Lugsum Samdupling in 1961. Bylekuppe is situated to the west of the Mysore District in Karnataka. It is home to the magnificent Namdroling Monastery, known locally as the Golden Temple. The Namdroling Nyingmapa Monastery is one of the largest Buddhist centers in existence today.
