At each of the three points his head bounced once beheaded a spring of water emerged, one hot, one tepid and one cold. Three fountains are featured in the church enclosed by black marble shrines, placed on different levels. Believed to be miraculous, water from these fountains used to be distributed for the faithful until the 1950 when the spring had to be closed due to pollution.
