Combining the best of the Top End, featuring a 4-Day Kakadu 4WD Adventure
Tour, plus a 1-Day Litchfield National Park Trip combined with a Hotel Night
in Darwin city between the tours.

• Day 1: Darwin to Kakadu National Park
• Begin your journey by traveling to the Wetlands Region, where the breathtaking scenery of the top ends begins to emerge. Discover a diverse collection of Top End birdlife as well as fresh and salty apex predator crocodiles. Continue on to Kakadu National Park and spend the next two nights in Jabiru. Stop at the Bowali Visitor Centre for a wonderful introduction to the Park's beauty and fauna before settling into the local lodgings. Continue north to Cahills Crossing, which marks the border between Kakadu and Arnhem Land. Cruise down the East Alligator River on the border of Kakadu and Arnhem Land to see Dreamtime stories of the area, spectacular birds, and to view crocodiles while attempting to catch some barramundi. Visit Ubirr Rock at sunset to see one of the world's best-preserved displays of Aboriginal Rock Art. Enjoy a variety of Rock Art styles and climb high for a breathtaking sunset over the Nadab Floodplain. Return to Jabiru for dinner and a comfortable night's sleep.

• Day 2: Jim Jim or Twin Falls – Jabiru Return
  
  - Relax at Jim Jim or Twin Falls, two of Kakadu's most well-known and
  beautiful destinations. Visit one of these incredible waterfalls located at
  the end of an exciting 4WD drive. Please remember that access to the falls is
  only available when conditions permit and this hike requires at least moderate
  to high fitness and agility. Hike out to the large plunge pool and beach area,
  where you may cool down surrounded by a dense monsoon forest and stunning
  granite escarpments. Return home with the option of stopping at the Warradjan
  Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn more about Kakadu's culture and the
  legends, plants, and biodiversity of this World Heritage Park.

• Day 3: Jabiru to Katherine
  
  - Explore Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Rock, Kunwarddewardde Lookout, and
  Nawurlandja Lookout's and Anbangbang Billabong's adjacent surroundings.
  Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Rock is home to outstanding Aboriginal rock art and
  Bininj Dreamtime stories. Travel south to another 4WD trail and enjoy a picnic
  lunch at the plunge pool of Barramundi Gorge (Maguk) Waterfall, one of
  Kakadu's most scenic and pristine waterfalls. Please keep in mind that the
  flat roads paired with rocky crossings going to the plunge pool through the
  monsoon forest require at least a moderate level of fitness and agility. After
  a 2km walk, swim, and lunch, we head to Nitmiluk National Park before retiring
  to our Katherine lodging for the evening to unwind and enjoy the local
  hospitality.

• Day 4: Katherine to Darwin
  
  - Reach Nitmiluk National Park Katherine Gorge early in the morning for a
  2-hour boat tour at your own expense (around A$120) or a hike along the sheer
  rock walls (1.4 km to 4.8 km return). Get a chance to take a beautiful
  helicopter flight to see the amazing views of Nitmiluk Katherine Gorge, the
  Arnhem Land escarpment, and indigenous fauna. Make your way to Edith Falls for
  further relaxation in picture-perfect Top End environs, with a picnic lunch,
  clean water, and a welcome opportunity to cool off. Return to Darwin in time
  to stroll through the famous Mindil Markets or relax at your accommodations,
  reminiscing on all of your travels and new acquaintances.

  - Hike Distance and Grading: 2 km, Grade 2–4 depending on the walk embarked.
  The main pool (when open) is a short walk with low grades. Upper pools require
  a reasonably steep climb and descent, and at least a moderate level of fitness

• Day 5: Darwin to Litchfield Return

  
  

• Check out of your accommodation early and store your luggage at the hotel reception. Take a day excursion to Litchfield National Park for sightseeing. Leaving Darwin, head south towards the world-class Litchfield National Park, which is bordered by thick patches of tropical rainforest and provides a cool respite from the Top End's heat. Take a little diversion to the Adelaide River, where you can explore the Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve and wetlands. The traditional lands of the Limilngan-Wulna people (who are participating in the reserve's management) are one of the most stunning areas to explore the Top End's rich fauna, home to several bird, turtle, and water python species, as well as the famed Saltwater Crocodile. Alternatively, get an opportunity to jump on board the 1-hour Jumping Crocodile Cruise (optional extra, strictly subject to availability on the day) payable directly to the cruise company. Travel south to see some incredible monolithic Magnetic Termite Mounds and cool off in one of Litchfield’s beautiful natural pools like Buley Rockholes or Wangi Falls. Visit a thundering waterfall like Florence Falls or Tolmer Falls and marvel at the sheer beauty carved out amongst the rocky escarpment. Head back to Darwin fully relaxed and rejuvenated after a day in the stunning tropical national park.
