Welcome to the mysterious world of "stones"!

This is Hyogo Prefecture's largest stone museum, exhibiting precious minerals,
gems, unusual stones, and fossils collected from all over the world.

The museum has many interesting exhibits, including impressive full-body
skeletons of a Stegodon and a Tyrannosaurus, as well as an introduction to the
traditional craft of Toyooka Kiryu Zaiku (Willow Crafts).

Located at the entrance to the national natural monument, Genbudo Cave, this
museum is surrounded by abundant nature, so why not spend the whole day having
fun?

    What kind of fossils can you dig up? You can dig up 1 or 2 real fossils such
    as ammonites, amber, shark teeth, trilobites, and mosasaurus teeth. You can
    take home all the fossils you excavate!

    Duration: Approximately 10 minutes


  • Admission ticket + gemstone excavation experience

    What kind of gemstones can you excavate? You may be able to excavate amethyst,
    lapis lazuli, fluorite, etc. You can excavate three gemstones using a hammer.

    You will create a coaster by weaving rattan, which is used in the traditional

You may take photos and videos inside the museum, however, please refrain from using tripods. In addition, it is prohibited to use photographs for commercial purposes without permission.
Please refrain from eating or drinking (including candy and gum) inside the museum.
Pets are not allowed inside the museum building. Pets must be held in your arms or a pet carrier in the shop and restaurant (terrace area).
If you wish to use the terrace area in the restaurant, please ask a member of staff. The entrance location differs from the normal entrance to the restaurant.
The museum management assumes no responsibility for any accidents or thefts that occur in the parking lot.
